Looks like a nice (even if illegal) place to play. If it's possible, seems like someone could make a nice OHV park!

Sadly with it behind housing developments that would never happen and people likely complain now. And yes, I agree he could have brought me in the easy way. But he didn't want to ride through the mud and I don't blame him. Bumps and bruises are no big deal to me.

I assume it was a 250 or 450cc enduro style dirt bike. Full lights and siren. But didn't appear to have anything else other than a radio.

Getting in and out of one hurts. I'd have to lower it. The Cherokee does me just fine. It's comfortable, handles well (I drive aggressively) and I've finally got it the way I want it. It was this or maybe a Grand Cherokee. But I love what I've got and it does what I want it to. I try and show the community just what our rigs can do. I'm part of two major jeep clubs here in north Texas and I see all the time the trouble people have, death wobble, leaks, etc. I like the luxury refinement of the Cherokee.

If I was to have anything other than a Cherokee it would be a 4Runner. It's the only other SUV I tested that had a soft enough suspension that my back could handle. Getting in and out would be a chore but I might be able to manage. It was a real toss up for me on the 4Runner. But in the case of this recovery, it wouldn't have fit.

Also, like me, you need to sleep

I would dump my KL for a JK in a heartbeat if the money was right. I have decided to see what 2018 brings, and go from there. I am taking care of mine mechanically, but am not likely to do any more mods. The gf has expressed interest in selling her Sport and taking over my Trailhawk. Then we could wheel together .

Now that's a plan. Must be nice. I wheel solo.

Wow, I went the opposite. Had the JK for 5 years, 2.5in lift and 33's, winch, front and rear steel bars etc. Was unstoppable! Never needed the winch. Traded it for the comfort of the Trailhawk as I do 30,000km a year on the highway... I do see offroad every couple of weeks but haven't had any problems apart from getting bogged on the beach!

interesting story. you have a big heart! but the guy was stuck for a week? that's weak. (no pun intended) rule #1 of illegal off roading, don't take unnecessary risks, rule #2 go w a buddy, rule #3 have a plan B. looked like an easy extraction? if he was more experienced he could have gotten himself out? or NOT stuck in the 1st place? nice cop too!

Another video, this of the tornado damage from Canton, Tx. I've edited out the audio from the video to protect information passed via communications I had running in the jeep. I've also edited out the boring parts.
