What have you done today to your Cherokee?

I did this in another forum an it was loads of fun to see some daily posts.
Today I installed my aFe Pro 5R air filter, the install also gave me a reason to buy a nifty telescoping magnet, first Jeep I've owned that had screws instead of clips for the air box. I had a K&N on my Liberty that made a huge difference with mileage and acceleration. Hopefully this will give me similar results.

I abused it with loading up about 1/2 yard of river rock for landscaping and another 60 or so edging bricks.

To be fair, not all at once. ;)

Today, I filled up the back with a very large box containing:

This weekend will probably be another trip to the car spa.
It looks like that saw has a nice rack and pinion fence setup. I have all Dewalts because of their system. I'd be interested to hear how you like it. Only drawback (for me) is it looks like it's a monster when broken down...maybe it's just the picture.

The dealership i got my TH from had it shipped from one in AZ and when they removed that dealerships sticker they scratched my TH were they sticker was looked like they used a knife to removed and I told them not to put there sticker on it and they did that to so they had to send my TH to the paint shop after I stood there and watch then remove there sticker, DAMBASSSES

Part of the conditions for buying the vehicle for me are always to have the dealership remove them themselves before I take possession of the vehicle

do yourself a favor, take those lights apart and seal them with clear silicone, everywhere (including between the lens and housing). i just mounted the exact same lights on mine last month, and inside of a week they were both showing water inside. after i sealed them myself i haven't seen a sign of water in them.

Installed my OEM trailer hitch. Cutting the bumper was a pain in the butt. Took about 2.5 hours to install the hitch, then another hour for the wiring.

Finished up my tailor wiring and ran a 4 gauge wire for my amp to behind the rear seats. Ran both wires through the interior, what a pain trying to feed it through the stock plastic wiring harnesses.

Just ordered an OEM Aluminum TH wheel so I can use the spare in rotation. I never used the factory spare on steel rim for ~25,000 miles and the difference in tread depth was about 3/32". This way I'll have more even wear and tire size if I have to use the spare.

Was thinking of doing the same. My last car never left me stranded, and so the original (now 9-year-old donut) was still in the trunk when I sold it -- never put any miles on it.

I plan on putting my TH through rougher terrain, so I expect I'll need that spare eventually.

Just pulled the trigger on five XD818 rims. 17*8, 35mm offset. Purchased the TPMS sensors from Rock Auto for $11 each. Rims should arrive Monday, TPMS by Wednesday, and the tires are already sitting in my garage. 245/70 AT51.

I have 4 gauges. 3 register the same and one does not. The Cherokee stock stuff agrees with the 3.

Just added a couple more stickers to the back, driver side window. Now I have MOPAR, a mountain, and a David Bowie reference.

I'm really digging how solid color stickers, mounted on the inside of the glass look from the outside. Personalized, but not loud.

Received and installed the wife's cargo cover in her KL.

Still on squeak/rattle patrol in my Trailhawk. :| Got them isolated and it's far better than it was, but I don't know if I'll ever get them completely squared away. (I like a quiet vehicle.)

Oh, and added a couple decals to the liftgate window of mine.

Rims and TPMS sensors came in today. Time to get the tire mounted and see if they fit with no lift, if not, I guess I need to wait longer to till I get my lift done.

Added a fire extinguisher [Kidde FA110] to my gear in back. It has overall great reviews on Amazon. I have some reservations about it, given the amount of plastic parts on it. But the positive reviews coupled with the price made me give it the green light. I've never once had the need for a fire extinguisher in the vehicle, so it's not a monumental concern for me. Just some added insurance and a bump up in my level of preparedness.

It's being held in the OneTigris MOLLE water bottle pouch. It fits well, although I knew when I bought it the pouch is a few inches shorter than I'd like it to be. I'm going to ditch the drawstring, and sew a couple of velcro or buckled straps to go over the neck of the bottle. This should keep it more secure and also still be quickly accesible. The molle attachment straps fit snugly around the CMS bar. It also just baaaaarely fits alongside the other bag and pouch I already have there. Overall I'm pleased with the purchases.

As I type this, my Uconnect is updating. I leave the car for two minutes, and then I got the notice to update. So now I'm patiently waiting for it to finish up. I can stay out in the field for an additional few minutes. ?

1. Full detail this morning by yours truly -- I think paying someone else to clean your car is less rewarding, strangely.

2. Bought a 12v air compressor from AutoZone -- planning on running some dunes sometime this summer, and wanted to make it easier to add air back to the tires.

3. Picked up a digital tire pressure gauge.

4. Re-badged -- replaced red Trail Rated badges with custom orange to match the engine cover. Left the TH badge off for now, but I also have a matching orange one of those as well. Still debating whether to put it on.

Finally did a mod I've been needing for a long time now: I upgraded my ugly, poor-performing factory halogens to a set of 5000k HIDs from @XenonDepot. Thanks to @ptrudel for his installation guide. It would have taken me HOURS longer to figure it all out myself. Installation had a few minor hiccups but I got it all sorted in the end. So far they look great! I can't wait until nighttime to see how they look on the road. For now all I have are some photos from inside my garage.

Didn't have to adjust the tilt at all, it matched perfectly what it was already set at. I'll see if I need to tune it after driving at night for a bit.

Before and after. I wasn't sure how best to white balance these photos to make an apples to apples comparison. These were all taken with white balance set at 5000k. I think it makes the yellow look more yellow than it really is (in one photo), maybe I should have set WB to match the temp of the subject bulb in each? In any case, they certainly look a lot brighter! I used all the same photo settings, so no Auto mode to screw up the comparison. 5000k WB, 500 ISO, 1/125s shutter.

Finally got around to making up a mount for the fire extinguisher to sit under the front of the drivers seat. Not in the way and easy to grab if needed. Bracket secures around the square metal bar under the seat (so it can't fly forward in a crash) and front simply sits under the Trailhawk factory floor mats.
