Needed cross bars for my kayak trays and bike trays. I found a cheap-o option with similarity to the aeroblades. Bought through WM online, $51 and free shipping. Universal 48" aluminum cross bars. I wanted a little overhang so I have an anchor point for random tie-downs. Have them disassembled now and this afternoon I'm going to scuff them, clean them, and hit them with a couple coats of truck bed liner. the black strip is a removable piece of rubber that will also be removed before paint. I want them black, but I want a non-skid surface for my rack mount points to grab on to. results to follow.

Varies on the weather, when its colder, the 4wd tends to kick so you will see a drop in mpg. As it gets back warmer, Fwd will come back on and become more fuel efficient. If your trying to save on gas, keep revs to 2000 rpms or under.

Ended up using the whole can. I was afraid the material would add a build-up on the bars so the fittings and such may not go back on correctly, but it is much thinner than I expected. I did a few coats, and a few sweeps each coat with very good coverage.

After drying 1.5 hours the tack is gone but it steel feels a bit soft. I'm letting it cure overnight before I assemble it and install.

Dried, assembled and installed. Pieces went together nicely but the install was a small pain. the clamps have a max open range and they cannot fit over the rails directly from above. Instead I had to disassemble the kit and install each clamp loose at an angle (equivalent of the cross bar facing the sky). Then slide the rails through each clamp. Once they were on loose everything tightened up nicely and looks good. I like the low profile look and the texture seems very durable. The weakest point of the entire kit seems to be the mount points for the factory rails to the roof, as I have read on here several times... I will report back if any noise and significant drop in MPG.
