Mike's Cherokee Limited

Thought I would start a thread showing off the things I'm doing with the car. I am leasing a brilliant black Limited with the full nav and convenience package. Since I am leasing I am trying to do whatever I can to make it "mine" while still making it all reversible. I love the vehicle so far, had it about a month but picked it off the lot with 1200 miles on it (eek!). We are pretty sure that due to the August 2013 build date that the car was driven from the manufacturing plant to the dealer's lot.

So first, thanks to JeepGirl's interior mod thread I picked up some black piping for the doors, door handles, around the gauge cluster, air vents, console where the shifter is, radio. I absolutely love how it looks. I have had a few people who thought it was stock and a few who had seen the car with out it and could have sworn it was always there. The black keeps the look that it was there from the start and doesn't add any odd colors into the mix. Best part, if I want to change it up it is cheap and easy.

Next, something a bit more bold. I love the brilliant black, and the chrome is very sharp looking on the outside of the vehicle. BUT something about a blacked out jeep just makes me happy. So I picked up some black metallic 3M vinyl and so far have taken apart the front hood grill and wrapped them. The looks is exactly what I wanted. Wrapping them was a bit tricky because I could not wrap the edges on the inside (around the outside edge the vinyl is wrapped under, but inner towards the grill it must be cut). If you stand right up at it, a few inches away you can see a few little slivers of chrome. Take a step back and it is mean looking. I still have to wrap the bottom grill surround, and I am going to wrap the chrome on the doors.

I was going back and forth between vinyl or plasti-dip. The thing was I didn't want just matte black, and heard not so good things about the enhancers. The cost for the vinyl was what I would consider very acceptable and the finish looks factory. I may plasti-dip the wheels eventually as wrapping them would be a huge pain.

Did you ever dip the wheels? Was thinking about this myself and curious to how it comes out!
