The time has come for the announcement of our 2nd Annual Spring Break Soft Road Meet in Bridgeport, Texas. This event is a combined effort with the North American Soft Roaders, North American Off Road Subarus, and Auto Science.
We will meet at the off road park between 8:00 – 8:30AM, find your trail leaders, and head out onto the trails when each group is ready. We will have a lunch break around noon (Bring a picnic lunch), lunch breaks will be determined by your trail guide. After lunch we will have a coordinated ride with the entire group, or you can go out on your own to explore the park.
A/T tires are recommended. There are sharp rocks and some water crossings that you would not want to get stuck in. Please have at least one recovery point that is easily accessible in case you need to get recovered. We will try to have at least one recovery vehicle with each group.
Groups are to have no more than 6 vehicles, with the trail leader being an experienced guide that has been to Bridgeport. If we see another group in trouble we will stop to assist. Please contact me if you would like to be a group leader. The leaders will determine the level of trails they will tackle in the morning and the requirements they will have for the group. Please take these next couple of months to interview your leaders and see who you want to ride with.
You will need a current Texas OHV sticker (2015) that you can pick up at most ATV shops (Grapevine Kawasaki, for example). Please call ahead to make sure they have the stickers, some shops will have no idea what an OHV sticker is. The sticker is $16 and is good until August. Entry is $25 cash or check only.
There will be plenty of picture and video opportunities, we will take our time on the trails. I'm providing a detailed trail guide with a couple of videos to show what the trails are like. Don't worry, watching the trails on Youtube is nothing like driving on them.
