Las Vegas & Surrounding Areas!

Ahhh that new thread smell! Hope to get together and check out some trails in the future. I am not a die hard off-roader, but I don't let a fun trail pass me by.

Been out to Logandale and hoping for more. Spent some time running to Ghost Town recently in Beatty and Tonapah (not off-road) but fun trips!

I will definitely be hitting up this section and picking your brain about trails in a couple weeks. I should get my TrailHawk on the 27th at the latest. My dad also lives in town and has a Wrangler. First trip is probably the "hump to Pahrump" depending on the weather.

Cool, hope we get enough local interest we can have a small group of us. Friend of my has a Wrangler as well. Sure enjoy his off road ability, but they aren't comfortable at all.

Yeah, I don't care for them at all. Had the TrailHawk been available when my dad bought his jeep I have no doubt he would have bought that instead. He wanted something to flat tow behind his RV and hit light trails with while camping. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he traded his Wrangler in after seeing the TH.

I'm assuming Rhyolite outside of Beatty, but what ghost town did you see around Tonopah? Goldfield is about the closest thing to a ghost town in the area, but it's still inhabited.

You should head back to Beatty, then take the Titus Canyon road into Death Valley. Tons of places to drive off road in the rest of the park if you are interested.

I'm keeping track of the trails you guys mention. I just got my Trailhawk yesterday. Between breaking it in, going on a cruise in a week, and holidays in general I probably won't have time to do anything until after the 1st of the year but I will for sure be hitting some snow while it is there.

Manhattan and the other place escapes me right now, but they were interesting to say the least. Rhyolite was a fun visit and the jerky and honey in Beatty itself is almost worth the drive.

Looking forward to watching us grow and hopefully be a semi-worthy group to get together and have some fun!

Gotcha. I wasn't considering anything that far from Tonopah, but it isn't like there are any towns that are actually closer. Haven't been to Manhattan in many, many years.

Alright guys, when are you ready to hit some trails? I hit my first yesterday up at Mt. Charleston and **** near got stuck pretty far out in the snow. I was climbing uphill in 4-high, all snow and it just stopped and started sliding backwards and sideways towards the drop-off side of the trail. This was on the way out so there was no turning back.

4-low, rear locked, and it dug in and crawled out. I really didn't think I was going to make it but I gotta say this thing is seriously badass, at least to me.
