We're heading out on vacation in a couple of weeks and planning to take the North Fork Rd. and Burrell Creek Forest Service Road from Grand Forks to Edgewood. It looks like a great 70+ mile trip on the BackRoad Map Book and on Google Earth. Does anyone have more up-to-date info on it? - Ted

I don't know about Burrell Creek but I almost positive that North Fork is still an active haul. If you've never been around hauling it can be pretty hairy. But if you know how to handle yourself around those rigs then it's a great drive. Amazing country and wild life.
Two big things to remember is loaded (coming down the hill) ALWAYS has right of way, they can't stop even if they want to. And they get paid by the load so they're hauling ass. Get out of the way if you can't keep up.
