To my fellow Arizonans

I feel your pain.
Clip from today (from my wife's Chevy)

I will admit, it was probably a small hot pocket. It dropped back and bounced around 119-120 the rest of the way home.

"Amateur"

My record in Arizona was 126F in Phoenix AZ. Building fences. So much fun....

The most interesting, though, was in Yuma. Squishy footprints in the asphalt.

There's an interesting weather cliff between Phoenix and Tucson. If you drive with your windows open you can feel the temperature drop dramatically somewhere ~10 miles or so east of Mesa.

No sympathy here, try 96 degrees and 70% humidity. Dry heat is nothing compared to here.

I've been in both environments (Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Japan). I think raw heat "wins". Humidity and heat are miserable but you can still function and humidity can be removed by dehumidier and/or A/C.

A/C can only cool to a certain delta (~30-40F or so). If it's 125 outside, your best effort cooling is still going to be hitting close to 90F inside.

Hot and humid is uncomfortable, but raw heat is dangerous ("frying egg temperature") for exposed surfaces.

Makes me glad my job is inside a building with a server room in a basement. Checked temp there and it is a nice and COOL 61F.

Wait 'till your management and bean counters get introduced to "hot aisle containment"

Yeah, been there done that, Southern Wyoming, I-80 end of August, got a sunburn in the vehicle but, didn't really feel it. What is bad here is transitioning from the Dry A/C cool to the heavy hot air outside. It's like breathing soup.

Impressive...we're currently at 90 with a humidity of 46% (66 dew point) and that's near a large body of fresh water. Lake Erie temp is in the low 70's...

Love the heat!!!!
