According to the local newspaper, The Arizona Daily Sun, Schnebly Hill Road from I-17 to Sedona will be closed for maintenance until August 15, 2017. Maintenance will take place along the bottom five miles up to the lookout and also near the top two miles by the Interstate.
It won't close until the first big snow storm.
Probably December??
Not even sure if it closes for the entire season, or just on and off as it gets snow.
Its a fun trail. I did it back in April. It had enough holes and ledges to make it fun, with some challenges. I too hope it doesn't get leveled out for the tourists. It already is pretty tame as BOH's go. It has definitely been the tamest of the ones I have done.
