Had a 2014. If you have the Ford tow package the foot activated hatch doesn't work. Minus one from Escape

My thoughts exactly

But then again I would never look at anything with an oval blue badge on the front

My employer utilized 13 escapes. I had one for about 35000 miles. I bought a Cherokee. The one I drove was the only one that had not been in for major repair in that time frame. Head gaskets, new transmissions, Etc. All repairs major mechanical, requiring multiple trips to the dealer. Loved the sync system though. There is no comparison.

My Oldest daughter has a 2016 Escape, and I don't think there's any comparison. It's smaller, inside and out. It is not as nice looking inside or out.
It does not handle as well or ride as smoothly. It is not as quite while driving. Please, I am a Ford Truck guy, but the Escape is not in the same class
as the Cherokee...!

I had a 2015 Escape Titanium AWD w/ 2.0 Ecoboost. I enjoyed the vehicle. Did fine in the little snow we get in Richmond,VA and was more peppy than the v-6 in my 2016 Trailhawk. I traded it only because I wanted something more capable offroad and better leg room. The Escape center console was a little restricting. Love the Trailhawk so far, only 3100 miles since October.

Before I settled on the TH, I was considering the Escape Titanium (among other vehicles), and one of the things that I did not like about the Escape was how it looked. It looked too much like an executives car, the businessman type if you will. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I'm not the typical suit and tie type with their $15 Starbucks coffee, and constantly on their phone in stop and go traffic.

And I'm sorry, but using the hands-free liftgate as your trump card against the Cherokee? That's like saying your car is better than the competition because it'll chill your drink in the cup holders. You're not James Bond, so stop trying to impress the ladies (or guys) with your cheesy one-liners of, "Are you up for some champagne, because I'm getting the chills just thinking about it?"

To be fair, they are valid points, albeit exaggerated for effect.

Cherokee doesn't have a foot activated power tailgate, although a "regular" power tailgate is an option
Cherokee doesn't have a standard rear camera, but it is available
Cherokee is smaller in the cargo area

But there could be a similar ad created by Jeep about the Cherokee vs the Escape with "our" exclusive features

I have considered the Escape as a Cherokee alternative, mainly because I get partner pricing on Fords, but the Cherokee is still going to be my next vehicle. It is just a reminder that choice is good, and everyone has different preferences and needs.
