Went down to my Local Jeep dealership today and took out a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited Active Drive II. Fully loaded with every available option including the luxury group with HID lights.

They also had a base model FWD in stock as well.

First thing I noticed is how much ground clearance it had, it really does look somewhat lifted, i'm guessing the active drive II option gives it a bit more height.

The seats are probably the most comfy and soft (yet supportive) I've encountered in a vehicle yet. The base model seats were nice and comfy but the limited ones were much better. I'm also a big fan of the ventilated seats, they work good.

Vehicle has lots of get up and go, and even from 115kms/h flooring it still takes off nicely for highway passing. While driving it was also very quiet its noticeably quiet almost like Cadillac quiet, definitely a huge plus.

Didn't really notice a whole lot of blind spots, the visibility was good in all directions. The backup camera looked awesome and was very clear on the 8.4" screen.

Voice commands to control everything like climate controls and radio stations worked very well.

I found enough cargo space although with the rear seats all the way back it seemed kind of small, however with both rear seats pushed all the way ahead (not folded down) that increased the space nicely.

When the salesman was driving (when it literally came right out of the shop from the PDI inspection we drove around the parking lot and tested out the active parking feature. It worked with no problems, parallel and perpendicular. One awesome thing that happened while backing into a spot is another salesman walked behind the jeep, jeep stopped and then continued with no intervention so it really does work even with obstacles being introduced.

Long story short, wife was originally interested in a Trailhawk however once she goes tomorrow to drive this i'm thinking she might be sold on it.

Since I have a Trail Rated 2012 Compass I'm not in the market for a Cherokee but i'm rather impressed by them.

One thing to note is Mopar's website lists skid plates and tow hooks available for all models of Cherokees as well, so they could probably be added to any model if need be.

I've seen videos of the Cherokee's parking assist before where it hasn't worked perfectly. Glad to see that it is working in these videos. Not that it matters much since I know how to park a car anyway, but I like to know that everything in my car works the way its supposed to even if I am never going to use the feature.

I was quite surprised how well it worked after I saw the videos of it failing. There was another time which I didn't video where we were in the back lot, and it "found" a spot that all 3 of us agreed it couldn't possibly make, but after going forward and back following the prompts to shift from reverse to drive a couple of times we ended up in the spot with no problems.
