200 miles in now and I'm chalking ^^this^^ up to just learning curve. Brakes seem solid and downshifting in automatic is transparent and smooth so far. What I will say in regards to using the transmission for braking - is that it would have been nice to have paddle shifters to give you full control of the transmission instead of the "manually shift to a gear to lock out all gears above" style that is in place. But that's a whole other thing all together.

Thanks Pete! Been here since February 10th, almost 14k miles on my TH. Absolutely love it!!! Jeep Life is an understatement, adventures & backroads rule every free weekend I have. I would guess I have put in at least 1k miles off road in the TH already, planning 4x4 vacations in the future as well.

This forum has become my favorite things to do everyday. I enjoy hearing different perspectives of the WIDE array of members, and have made many good forum friends here.

Here's to another 2500 posts! Cheers JCC Members

Leather Seats

"Luxury Group

The vented seats do perform flawlessly and I find them indispensable in 80+ degree temperatures. I never had (or bothered to get) vented seats before but I doubt that I would get a new car without them, after the experience in the Cherokee. Having the vent on (the air is sucked out of the seats lowering the temperature and helping with perspiration issues ), makes the AC much less intrusive, and cools the occupants better and faster. I also like the perforated premium leather seats much more than the plain leather seats (Iíve attached a close-up) and believe that this feature alone makes the Luxury group a good buy. I opted for the ďIcelandĒ seat color combo, which in reality I would really describe as dark gray/light gray, rather than black/gray. I have to say that I think they provide a two-tone image that makes the Cherokee much classier but also look conservative enough to provide a calm atmosphere in the cabin. I am very happy with the seats in general, and the overall look of the interior, although I will go for a slightly lighter look. To that effect, I am adding personalized gray premium mats, in place of the black stock Jeep mats, and will post pictures when I get them."

I just ordered the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I got the tech package but did not get the luxury package. I was unaware the leather was substantially different. Do you have any insight into what the standard leather looks like? If it is not what i am looking for i may call and upgrade my order to have premium leather.

My impression is that, with the 2015 Cherokee , leather is no longer standard/included for the base Limited model. You HAVE to get the Luxury package to get leather, and, if you do, it is the ventilated leather (i.e., with little holes in it). Anyone of a different opinion?

This makes me nervous! When i was at the dealership i made it pretty clear when we were figuring out deals that i did NOT want cloth. I will call the dealership and clarify i want leather. That would be annoying if i would have to pay another $1,600 just to have leather! However, I personally prefer it over cloth. Thanks for your help!

I could well be wrong, and I am checking. Am looking for list on this site that had the various 2015 models and what was included. I will be back if I get answer.

I read Milous post of 6/4 on Jeep Garage detailing what comes with the various models to say that cloth seats are standard for the 2015 Limited unless one opts for the Luxury package, which then includes premium leather seats. I just checked it again, and that is what it seems to say. Others please chime in to correct if I am wrong.
