That sucks, i'd love to get a look at your KL, you've been very helpful since your joining a few months ago. i will be making several day trips there this weekend and may plan another group trip for later in the summer.

Thank you for the kind words.... We really want to do something KL related very soon. I have been a bit absent lately and even been lacking on our own site with the projects we have been working on, but I think things are starting to turn and we can get back to exploring and sharing ...this is how I missed this thread until now.

I'm still scared to post something but it looks like we may shoot for late May or early June for something, likely RC. I've not spent much time out east and to be honest Maryland does pose a bit of a problem for us as it doesn't have any conceal carry reciprocity. It's a bummer too as we love the area.

If anything it might actually be easier with wet sand, rather than dry. Tends to pack in easier, and as long as you don't gun it, shouldn't be an issue. I've been on the beach quite a few times in different vehicles, so for one i'll be happy to share as much helpful info as I can, and i'm sure the others will too.

I'm 100% confirmed, though i'll be in our Recon rather than the KL, thanks to some unfortunate circumstances.

@gravitywell, just go ahead and admit you'll be there

I've been watching the weather like a hawk, and it seems that the rain schedule keeps moving earlier, which is good. it has gone from a 90% chance to a 60% chance, and most of it early. we might be able to hit a nice spot where it doesn't rain, or is simply raining off the coast. either way, i don't think it will be bad enough that any of us will regret the trip, and as a bonus, there shouldn't be anyone else out on the beach.

Ha, it was actually painted when you saw it the other day. I thought it was pollen, and attributed the excess water pooling on the windshield to bad wiper blades. The day after was the first sunny day I was able to take a look and see it as it was.

Id rather take the KL, but with how it handles water on the windshield its not the safest for a long drive like that. Plus a layer of salt on top probably wont help removing it. Ah well. The Recon already has the pass paid for at least. You can all show me up on the beach. The KL definitely handles sand a lot better than the JK
