Just thought I'd add in my experience as I just picked up a jeep. Stay a way from Seaview Jeep in Ocean Twp.. I live just down the road and swung in on a Monday night after work and the sales guy was useless. Wouldn't be bothered to bring around the actual vehicle I was looking at so instead brought around a cherokee latitude with NONE of the extras I wanted because "well I have a bunch of them but they are all in the back but here look at this one". Then didn't even know what was included in the package! Told me I had to pay additional for remote start (no, it is included in the Comfort / Convenience Group which is what I wanted).

Ended up having a GREAT experience (and got my vehicle from) Buhler Bitter up in Hazlet.

I actually didn't enjoy my experience with them either. I test drove the first one there but cherokee still wasn't programmed fully for driving and they didn't move on their prices.

I ended up purchasing mine at Teterboro in north jersey and the transaction was much easier with them!

I can't really suggest a dealer in your area, but for price, if you're not a member of USAA but are a AAA member, you'll get a better price than Truecar. The AAA buying service is affiliated with certain dealers who will honor the AAA price certificate. It's a great price to start out in dealer negotiations.

Fullerton

I purchased my Latitude from Lou at Fullerton last Saturday. It's the 3rd Jeep I've purchased from the dealership and 10th in the family. I highly recommend them.

I had a HORRIBLE experience at at Fullerton. Very long story short they promised me delivery 5-6 times over a 1 month period. And i was always the one reaching out to them rather than the other way around. They also blatantly lied to me about my trade in. Broken promises and lies. I really regret buying from them.

Couple dealer experiences.

Manhattan Jeep - wouldn't advise shopping here. They get plenty of people coming in an paying close to ask given the amount of money flowing through the city.

Baker Jeep in Princeton - negotiated online with them would match another guys offer but nothing special. Wasn't a good deal.

Ramsey Jeep - bought my TH here from James Turner. Pretty good guy, gave me everything I asked for. As always just be sharp when dealing with the finance guys.

I'm actually curious to find out which dealers people feel have the best service department? Not all service departments are created equally, and some are worse than others in terms of customer service, knowledge, professionalism and trustworthiness. If anybody has any recommendations please mention them here.

When it comes to service departments stay far away from Dick Greenfield Dodge in Lawrenceville NJ. They have a service department that's open 24/7 from Monday to Friday which is convenient however everytime I have taken my vehicles there I always end up having some kind of problem with them. The convenience isn't worth the headache I know is coming afterwards.

Buhler Bitter in Hazlet so far has been great very friendly in the service department. Two moldings were scratched on the outside of the vehicle and there was a scratch in the paint. A few days after buying the car I drove back out to them, in a matter of an hour they replaced both pieces and buffed out the scratch. Very nice waiting area as well.
