Now that we're driving a Wrangler Altitude Unlimited instead of the Cherokee Trailhawk I have not seen any tank get over 20 mpg US. Most are in the 19-19.5 mpg range, but that is when we are on a trip, with the truck rather heavily loaded, and doing a lot of ups and downs in the mountains between here and eastern B.C. I don't check the mpg driving around town as I'm afraid it would make me cry. That mpg is on 87 oct though and we always ran the THawk on 89. I'll try a few tanks of 89 in the Wrangler and see if the mpg improves. - Cheers, Ted

Great mpg with 2014 TH w/ tow

Did a 2700 mile road trip over the past week and got what I'd call amazing mileage on the TH. Trip meter says 56 mph average (2700 mi / 48.25 hr), at 26.6 mpg, which includes an hour or two of offroad/trails. Now at 21k miles on the TH.

The last 300 miles, between Boise and Lewiston, I got 27.5 mpg on the EVIC averaging 60-65 mph. Gas gauge roughly agrees, have about 3/8 tank left (filled up in Boise). On the 80-85 mph in the interstate it was more like 22-24 mpg avg.

This is with the latest PCM/TCM updates (applied July 2016), drop-in aFE pro dry air filter, Auxmart whispbars, otherwise stock.

23.5 highway (75mph)
20 city 45-0-45-0-45-0 you know the drill
Been getting this for a whole year.

FYI: I just did a 150 mile trip with no cruise control used and saw an unexpected better mileage report from the computer....

Edmonton to Lethbridge and back again.. (520 kms trip / 325 miles), no tow package... 2016 TH with only 700 kms on it at the time.

Did 10.5L/100 kms (22.4 MPG) on the way down, had cruise set to 120 kph (75 mph) all the way. I wasn't impressed, but then again the Jeep is still breaking itself in and the tranny was still figuring itself out. Had to fill up 3/4 of the way thru in Claresholm.

Return trip did 8.8L/100 kms (26.7 MPG) and again had cruise set to 120 kph (75 mph) all the way. Had 1/4 tank left when I got home. Pretty pleased with this result, although my old 2013 Grand Cherokee's personal best was 8.4L/100 kms (28.0 MPG)

Traffic was relatively the same on both trips.
