The East Durham region has some trails. They are not very good, but worth a try. I live in North Oshawa, it's really hard to find good trails here.

Hello from an old Hamilton boy, now living in god's country, British Columbia. I got my first car, a Model A Ford roadster, in 1949 and covered a lot of southern Ontario in my younger days. You may have to go well north to find much off roading. From '52-'57 I was stationed in Camp Borden and we gave the recruits driver training on some of the roads around Lake Simcoe. There were quite a few dirt/gravel roads around there then but I would imagine most have been paved over in the last 60 years. Your best bet is to check withwww.backroadmapbooks.com as they publish detailed off-road map books for most of the provinces, including at least one for Ontario. Have fun! - Ted

I just checked that site myself and found they have changed the site to: www.backroadmapbooks.com They now have 3 books for Ontario; Cottage Country, Northern Ontario and Eastern Ontario. - Ted

Well, another site tells me they now have one for Southern Ontario as well. You're in luck! - Ted

There has to be some trails through the many vineyard areas of the Niagara Peninsula. Best of luck. Hope the GF appreciated the 4wheeling.

What shall we have? An '82 Margaux! Is it any good? Good....?, It will make you believe in God!

Thank you. I'm assuming by cottage country you mean around the lakes a few hours north / north east from Toronto? May have to check one out next time she and I end up there over the summer.

If you go to www.backroadmapbooks.com and they tell you the area that each book covers, and all the major towns, townships. The ones for Southern Ontario and Cottage Country will give you plenty of trails to explore. - Ted
