Question - are these BI-XENON headlights? Meaning they have a solenoid which physically aims them up for the Hi beams, or are they just regular and the high beams are the Cherokee opening up it's lid/mask?
Does that make sense? And - does it matter?
I plan on going to lighting depot when I'm ready for this upgrade

Your definition of bi-xenon is slightly off. Pretty sure it was german cars (mercedes/bmw/audi/vw) that first used the term bi-xenon. They were all of the shutter type. All used the E46-style projector made by automotive lightning (a division of bosch). In that sense the cherokee uses a bi-xenon.

The aiming-type was used by others (volvo for example, lamps made by valeo). Not sure if they were labeled bi-xenon or not.

The cherokee factory HID lamps have a shutter and are also self-leveling (aiming). Pretty sure DOT/EU standards now require self leveling for all HID lamps due to its high output.

Either way a HID bulb on a halogen projector ends up with glare to others. Surprisingly LEDs on fogs are even worst. It seems very few care about this tho...

I never tried installing aftermarket bulbs on the fogs yet but I've tried changing the license plate and interior trunk light and the LEDs I bought didn't snap in as well.

I installed the LEDs in the license plate last week. When putting the LED you kind of have to really have to line it up exactly and I had to force mine in...they work fine right now.

On the led you have there are prob 3 pins on them.2 on one side and 1 on the other side of it.. They they to be shaved down with and knife or file so they are flush. They stick out and don't allow it to clip into the factory set up.

Personally guys I wouldn't go with a random no name brand of HID like some people are (not to put down the kits you have or anything, but a buddy of mine put a cheapo HID kit on his civic and it ended up causing a lot of expensive issues for him, water got into the ballasts and well, the result wasn't good.

I'd stick with XenonDepot. We pay a lot of money for our vehicles so I would always say don't cheap out on parts if ever.

I got the XenonDepot XtremeHID Kit with the relays + resistors, had a shop in whitby install them.

Here's how it looks:
