A buddy of mine ruined all of his plastic trim by accidently grabbing a rag he had used for tire dressing. Turned it all chalky white. Be careful.

Tell your friend to get a container of amyl acetate if he can find some. Wiping the plastic down with this will remove the chalkiness, then apply 303 once dried. Word of warning, it kind of smells bad, and I wouldn't advise smoking while using it. I had trim turn white on a caravan I had years ago and tried this. I work in drycleaning so I have access to a plethora of chemicals to experiment with.

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It really shines up the plastic, as well as provide UV protection.

Never knew they made this for regular plastic on the vehicle. I have that kit but the one that is for tires and it is awesome, however gloves MUST be worn as it will 100% without a doubt stain your skin (trust me, I got it all over my hand by accident and my hand was stained black for a few days!).

I will definitely be getting that kit you have showed us there to do the lower body, front and rear exterior panels asap)

That Jet Black is some pretty good stuff. Just finished a rebuild for a buddy on an old 78 MGB with those nasty black bumpers. It sucked up 3 coats and looked like new. Be interesting to see how long it lasts. I don't have any other experience with it.

yup exactly this! I also recommend the cleaner. I get more dirt off then I do with just soap and water.
