Bird egg

So last weekend I was on a weekend trip and noticed a bird egg had dropped on my hood and exploded. I totally didn't think about washing it off right away for some reason. So it sat there for about 2.5 days in the sun.

Monday this week I took a pressure washer and tried to get as much off as I could, and it looked like it did get most of it. However today I did a hand wash of the car, and there's still a thin layer of goo all around it. I can't tell if it ate through the clear coat (I hope not).

So anyone have any suggestions? A quick google search said to use a mixture of vinegar and water, but I'm a little leary about that one. Should I try and let some bug remover sit on it for a while? Maybe just clay bar the hood?

Use a clay bar and rub lightly. Should come right now. Make sure you lubricate the spot first with a quality spray detail. When your done wash the entire thing and get some Sonax Polymer Net Shield. You can do the whole vehicle in 20 mins and stuff like this won't happen. I just spilled a cup of coffee on my hood this week and it was hot. Baked right on. I wiped it off relatively easy since I use the sealant.

rubbing alcohol is a harmless solvent for car exteriors - I use it for tree sap, actually I use CVS brand hand sanitizer wipes

Put some ice on it. Literally, some ice will cool and/or freeze the substance and it can chip or pull right off. I do that with pine sap, and bubble gum on the seats.

Is that used in place of wax? Or in addition to? Once I get this egg crap off, and get a chip on my door painted, I was going to try a good coat of the Collinite wax. But this stuff looks a lot easier.
