As we heard from @Toy, FCA is introducing a new 2.2 L Turbocharged Diesel, derived from Alfa Romeo in MY 2016. Unfortunately, for now, it is only available in overseas markets. The new Diesel improves torque by 25%, both the acceleration and power by 17%, while CO2 emissions are down by 3%, from the current Diesel version.
Here are the technical specs for the stronger of the two Diesel versions:
Engine: 2,184 cm3
200 HP @ 3,500 RPM
325 lb-fts torque @ 2,500 RPM
City fuel consumption: 33.6 MPG
Highway Fuel Consumption: 48 MPG
Combined Fuel Consumption: 41. 3 MPG
Acceleration (0-100 km/h or roughly 0-62 MPH): 8.5 s
Note that this is coming from Italian specs and that the MPG are calculated according to European standards. For anyone interested, here is the link to the whole technical spec sheet (in Italian):

On a separate note, it is interesting that they introduced a "Limited Plus" model in Europe for MY 2016! And, if you are wondering, the TH is still not available in Diesel!
