Check engine light now on after battery replace

Replaced battery in my '14 Limited, now the check engine light is on. Something I have to take to the dealer to get turned off? Was trying to stay away from them.

Thanks
Bob

Happens all the time. It's prolly a code about the steering wheel sensor. Many people have complained about it after removing the battery. Take it to autozone or any auto parts store and have them check, then clear the code. Worse comes to worse take it to the dealer. They can do the same thing.

Sometimes the evil Steering Angle Sensor Code can be cleared by finding a place where you can do a coulple of lock to lock turns like a figure 8.

I replaced the battery a while back in my 2014 and the light stayed on for about a day then finally cleared out. I think it even said in the manual that it will usually clear out on its on after a few successful drives.
