I don't even understand the majority of the things discussed here, but seeing the progress from A to B was incredible, and this isn't even your profession. Wow, what an amazing job. How long would you say this took you from start -> finish? Also, what got you into wanting to repair cars from scrap and how did you even begin to learn everything needed to get done? The part about the airbags intrigued me because friends have told me airbag deployments pretty much render a car useless since getting everything setup again is supposed to require lots of help from the manufacturer.

But even more than all of that, seeing what goes into make all of this function has given me waaaay more appreciation for my cherokee. Makes entire sense that these beasts would cost so much money when you know what is behind the scenes. Can't even begin to understand how an engineer makes sense of all that and goes from idea to this final product.

Thanks eorlas! The actual work was done and hour or two at a time over a 2 month period. I wasn't able to do much on a daily basis, but probably all in all only amounts to 10 days to two weeks of work.
I love cars in general and have always had a knack for disassembling and re-assembling almost anything I can get my hands on.
The reason most cars are totaled due to airbags is (from my understanding anyway) a repair shop isn't allowed to install used airbags. I can understand the basis, but with any job, if things are done properly there is little risk.

Update on the 24" light bar. I installed it at the bottom of the lower center grille. I was a little worried mounting it so low, but we won't be "mudding" so I gave it a try. I can't emphasize how much of a difference it makes!!!
One tip on the install, I grounded the relay to the battery (should have known better) and I get static on the radio when the LEDs are on. I am sure grounding to the frame will resolve the issue. I'll update once I move it.

It looks like an angry EMOJI now, LOL!

Well guys, after much deliberation I have decided to sell the Jeep. It was a wonderful project, I had a great time doing it and sharing the work with you all. It couldn't have turned out better appearance wise. I decided to sell it after all the work because it has a subtle 2-3 shift. I have had it to the dealer twice and they say their is nothing they can do to help me unless I approve 500-$1000 worth of time diagnosing the issue. Very disappointed...

Same reason I traded my KL in. Sucks after all the work. I ended up with a 2017 WK2 Trailhawk. I love it!

Things have changed. Used to be after the warranty expired, a junk yard, parts store and shop manual was enough to keep it going until the wheels fell off. Today with proprietary program code and networked ECUs, the dealer is locked in, else it's Humpty Dumpty.

I appreciate all the kind compliments guys, I thought I would give Jeep one more try and bought a Patriot
....and guess what, patriot has issues with the CVT in the 2.4L. All I needed was a car for work that could take 50K a year with little upkeep. As much as I hate to say it I think I am going to try another parent company.
