When I turn the key to the run position i get the solid red battery light come on after a few seconds. It stays on until I start the engine, and then it goes away.
Is this normal? Or is it a sign that something is wrong?
Thanks! There is a lot of info on the dash that I am not used to so it's hard to know what is normal... like battery voltage, when it set to run it goes below 10 and then when the engine is started it stays around 14 or a little bit over.
mine sits at 14.2 most of the time.. though sometimes it dips for 13.8 on a hot day, I suspect its the air con and fans running... like most things... all is good unless a light comes on and stays on or a chime indicates...
I honestly wouldn't be too worried about the battery light unless it says on after the car starts running. It figures that all these small things don't get noticed until after we've brought the car home and started using it though, hey? It would make our lives a lot easier if we were allowed to spend more time with the vehicles when we're test driving them especially when we're new to the car.
