I stuck a piece of 2 x 4 flat under the 94R, so that raised it 1.5". The cables and terminals reach the posts. Barely... but they reach.

The Exide 94R (like our OEM 94R) is 7.5" high and the 27F (Northstar / X2 Power) is 8.75" high, so 1.25" difference. It'll fit height-wise, and there's plenty of room above to clear the hood.

Width : the OEM 94R is 6.875" while the 27F is 6.77". I checked the bottom retainer block and it grabs 3/16" on the 94R's lip, so the 0.1" doesn't matter as far as holding it down, no jerry-rigging necessary I'm sure (it would be super easy to do though).

The cables barely make it up to the posts when the 94R sits 1.5" higher, but they make it. We only have a 1.25" rise with the 27F so I don't see a problem. If it does create a problem for some who try, the cables are secured with plastic clips to the bottom of the battery tray, and I'm sure we can pull a bit more cable upwards if need be...

One last diffrerence : the 27F (Northstar) is 15 lbs heavier than the OEM 94R. The tray looks solid to me and I don't see a problem there either...

I'd say it's a go !

I'd really like to see a dual post option. So my winches and accessories don't have to share the same connection point. Things have gotten VERY crowded. Although the 27F looks like a fantastic alternative for the 94R since I think mine has a dead cell.

Yeah I did a bit of serching and couldn't find a dual post 27F. Northstar does make the 27M AGM with dual posts, but the positive is on the front left like the regular 27, so no good... I just now found out why they added the "F" to 27 instead of the usual "R" for reversed posts : it's for Ford, who were the first to use a reversed 27, and the letter stuck after that...

You would benefit from a 27F, with all the extra reserve capacity it has over the 94R. But just a heads up : I've looked at other brands who make 27F AGMs and the Northstar really stands out in terms of CCA and RC ratings. Noticeably higher than the competition...

I've got two 31 agm from batteries plus x2 power ones. They seem to have a 60month warranty where the north star only have a 48 month. But thanks for the 27F into. I'll prolly get one.

That's what I meant sorry. The 31 batteries I have are in my travel trailer. I'll prolly pick up a 27F in a few days.

Well I ordered the battery last night but just got a call from the store that it actually needs to be special ordered in.... so it won't be available until next Friday. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait- at least I'm not in a pinch!
