DIY Maintenance/Warranty

Will doing my own general maintenance such as changing oil, filters, etc. void my warranty?

Hi there !

Nope, not if you live in the US or Canada. Elsewhere it depends on local or federal policies.

And welcome to the forum !

Just keep all your receipts for anything you purchase so there can be no discrepancies...

Make sure you document the work and keep receipts.

How do you guys document your oil changes? Doing my first DIY one soon, thinking receipts from oil/filter, with mileage done at and a pic of the oil life display to show it was changed at ~20%. Is the pic of the OLM overkill?

I think a pic is overkill, but that's just me. Receipts, and jotting down the information (date, and mileage) into your manual should be enough.

I get my filters from the dealer (hate the mark up) but hard for them to dispute I bought them when they are all linked to my name/vehicle in their computer.

I staple the receipts for the oil to the receipt for the filter and place them in the glove box w other Jeep paperwork. Then go online and update the self maintenance info in the Jeep Dashboard.

I just save my receipts that have the mileage, oil brand/type on them. That's all you need.
Also I bring in my own Mopar filter and the lube shop credits me for their filter.
I shop on line and buy 4 at time when I get a good deal. E-bay has been a good source the last two times. Both have been on-line Jeep dealers.
