Popping sound.. driving me crazy...2017 latitude

Bought new, I've put 3,000 miles on her. The last few weeks I've been hearing a popping sound. The best way I can describe it is the sound a 2 liter bottle makes when expanding back to shape.

It's coming from behind the dash, instrument cluster area . Seems to happen at random times driving and also happens just about every time i shut her off. Just today I was with my fiance and hopped out to get gas, I get back in the car and she asks, "What's that popping sound?" So I'm definitely not crazy.

No bottles in my jeep btw, and yes its a cherokee. I actually saw another post who had the same noise but it was a grand cherokee. Any one else have this?

When I shut mine off, I hear whirring sounds. I heard these noises in every Mopar I have owned in the past 10 years or so. The sound is the HVAC flow direction doors re-positioning themselves. The popping you hear may be one of the doors is jammed.

Yeah this is just a single pop sound. Some days I don't even hear it. I've heard it without having the air on as well. This is my first brand new car so I thought maybe it was something "breaking in", but it's starting to be a concern. More of an annoyance than anything though because I don't notice anything on how it runs.

What dhh3 said has been true of the last number of years
in Chrysler products.
My 2011 Dodge Journey would make very pronounced pops
when the ventilation would set/reset when the ignition was
turned off/on , once I had gotten familiar with it I no longer
worried about it.
Seeing in that it's new use the warranty to have them
check it out.

Hi Taf789,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.
