In your case, I believe there is a turbo upgrade but you've got to drop a considerable amount of money for it.

When you get a chance, compare your engine layout to a Dart. If they are similar, and a CAI is made for the Dart, you may be able to use it. The reason that I say this is because when I had my Journey, no CAI was made for it. However, there was one for the Avenger and it fit the Journey!

The Journey is built on the Avenger platform, and the Dart and Cherokee share platforms.

Thanks for the quick reply the turbo option was looked at but this is not an option because of the cost. I have found that K&N makes an air intake now -

77 Series Air Intake
Free-flowing Aluminum Tube
Silver Powder Coated Finish Intake Tube
Not legal for sale or use in California
77-1570KS

Has anyone tried this air intake if so how loud is it in the cabin.

I am also lookin at the MagnaFlow Exhaust Products 15293 MF Series Performance Cat-Back Exhaust System , Is there anyone that has installed this exhaust system.

I too am debating on the KN on my 4. I have not seen any posts where anyone has actually put it on. One of us has to be the test case soon. I'll prob bite the bullet in next month and get it.

is there any way to get the dual exhaust on the 4cyl? Disregarding swapping the rear piece for the exhaust.

Let me know I am looking at the biting the bullet on the MagnaFlow system first and just get a K&N Air filter until I have the extra cash to do the CIF

Full cat-back system?

Edit: Read few above....pricey system

I was thinking about a flowmaster muffler for the sound...searched a few threads found some nice sounding videos.

I really love the growl of the stock exhaust system and hope more aftermarket ones come out that will be affordable. Headers would be nice, too. Why? Why not!

Headers would be great, however, unfortunately the exhaust manifolds are cast onto the heads so you cant just replace them. What we would actually need is someone to develop heads and headers, which would give us great performance gains but also come at a very significant cost. So finding someone to do the r&d and then manufacture them for the maybe couple hundred people who would actually install them is pretty unlikely (unless there is enough similarity/interchangeability with the 3.6 parts to make it worth their while)

I'm not apart of the Facebook group that posted one anymore so I can't say where it is.

I always had this idea that if I were to consider upgrading to a different exhaust (because, let's face it, they will inevitably rust out), simply cut the exhaust tips so they are more flush with the rear valance, and it won't affect the departure angle so much. Granted, I am no metal cutter, or welder (my GF can do that lol), but I can't imagine it being all that difficult.
