My research has led me to the conclusion that EVERY Cherokee, regardless of whether it's a 2.4, 3.2, tow package, no tow package, 4x4, FWD, etc has an engine oil cooler, and EVERY Cherokee with the ZF9 gearbox has an auxiliary oil cooler.
The ONLY difference in cooling that the "HD cooling" included in the trailhawk and tow group equipped Cherokees, is a different radiator fan assembly with two fans instead of one. The tow group additionally has a bigger alternator and different brake calipers.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a 2.4 AD1 Cherokee without the tow group and I have both an engine oil cooler and an auxiliary transmission cooler.
You are correct on the bigger alternator as my TH with tow package has an 180 amp and my Latitude without tow has a 160 amp alternator--both have the 700 amp maintenance free batteries. I don't see any code for the brake calipers so can't confirm that.
