Throttle position sensor: Check engine light

I took my TH in on friday for a aftermarket sound system installed. After they got it all put back together and started it, it started revving high in idle and check engine light came on. Transmission code, throttle sensor. They had it towed it to dealership. Waiting till weds before they look at it...bumming big time. Labor day weekend. Does anyone think this might be a big issue?? Thanks... new to the forums. Hope Im posting in the right area! Feed back is appreciated

Guessing they messed up the wiring or a fuse somehow. Messing with the uconnect system aka radio and not sure what your doing could really open up a can of worms. Keep your fingers crossed that's all that happens

Could be bad splice? Did they disrupt the stereo to computer communications? My 06' Dodge diesel has a twisted pair computer communications cable throughout the vehicle. Touch that pair at ones own demise.

This repair might not be covered by Chrysler warranty.

Its at the dealership right now but I dont think they disrupted anything with the Uconnect system or the stereo system. I had them add an amp and sub woofer. I did some research on the throttle sensor and found out they are very sensitive to being grounded out. Thats where I think the problem lies...I hope. But they are paying for tow and to get it fixed...unless it is covered under the warranty. Ill find out Weds. Its sucks being w/o it.

If the stereo shop damaged some wiring, Chrysler probably won't cover the repair. As a side note, my Cherokee had the MIL (check engine light) on and the electronic throttle control warning light on and it turned out to be a bad connection between the coolant temperature sensor and the PCM (engine computer). My dealer repaired the connection and no more warning lights. Good luck and hopefully it had nothing to do with the stereo install so it will be covered by your vehicle warranty.
