We are waiting for our Limited to be built and will be towing it behind our motorhome. I will be using a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar with an SMI Airforc one break system. Not the least expensive but appears to be the most effective unit with full proportional breaking.

I plan on having it set up in April when I take my coach out of storage. I also plan on getting the Roadmaster Tow Defender and Roadmaster Guardian to protect the Cherokee. This may be a bit overkill but I would like to give my new Cherokee as much protection as possible.

We will be fulltiming in the coach starting June 1, 2014 so it will be towed for many miles.

I am looking forward to hearing about all of the motorhome owners experience with the Cherokee.

There are two pictures on the Blue Ox Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/BlueOxProdu...ation=timeline
Wish the owner(s) of the Jeep(s) would post about their experience. One Jeep has chrome on the fascia and the other doesn't. Or maybe it's just the lighting and both pics are of the same vehicle?

Note the comments about the ~37 in spread of the tabs. My 2005 CR-V tabs are 24 in on center.

Check out the Q & A on ACC compatibility:
Q: Does this work with the adaptive cruise control?
A: According to the information available to us at this time yes it will work.

What are the thoughts of the rest of you 4-downers?

Is that the Altitude in the Blue Ox picture?

How did they get that so soon?

Thanks for the heads up on the Altitude. I see what you mean; they're not due until spring:

Trailhawk ready to be towed!

I got my Trailhawk fitted with the Roadmaster Baseplate, Roadmaster Sterling Towbar and the Airforce One Break system. Cliff's Welding in Mesa, AZ did the install - they did a great job. They have done 4 Trailhawks now - all with the Roadmaster setup, as the Blue Ox baseplate was not available yet.

The install took all day - they started out with the Jeep install and late in the afternoon they tackled the Motorhome side.

Towing behind our motorhome is rock solid - I don't even know that the Jeep is back there.

The Roadmaster setup is not the most elegant (I think) but it works great.

I got some pictures attached for those interested.

Carefree,

Thanks for posting this, great photos. I will be using the same, Roadmaster Sterling. I have the Cherokee limited so expect it to look a little different with the chrome "mouth". I am still trying to figure out where to bring everything to get the coach set up with an SMI Airforce 1 and baseplates.

This will happen in April for me as my coach is tucked away in storage until then.

As for elegant, I am not sure if any brand is elegant. Way better than the old day. As you said, I also like the rock solid design of the Roadmaster. It does appear that the cross bar give more strength to the setup as the other brand do not have this.

I am also planning on using the Roadmaster tow defender and guardian for as much protection as possible for the Cherokee.

Thanks for the update, and glad your installation went well at Cliff's !

Are you missing the center intake grill in front of the radiator stack or am I being goofy yet again??
Mine is at the interior shop in Mesa today getting the seats tweaked a bit so I can't run out and take a look...

I dunno...
