Tow a fun finder 210USD

Hi, So here the stories we had a luck on a fun finder 210USD witch we where told the dry weight was of 3800lbs. I check the info on internet found the same thing. We bought it, thinking that if we buy a Cherokee we would be alright. I had a couple of questions about the trailler so I give the VIN to fun finder and ask them to send me complet specs. Turns out with the options the trailler dry weight is 4200lbs and hitch weight of 380lbs. I like to have your opinion the Cherokee would do it or would be to thight.

Thank you

too much. you want something in the 2500lb-3000max range dry... tons of weight when you load it up.. and also passengers and gear in the car.

Add in FWD based awd.. and I'd pass.

Unless you are just towing it once and parking it that is.

Now if you were renting a uhaul trailer to move thats another story IMO...

For a 5000lb trailer you are talking full size truck or truck based suv territory IMO.

FWIW I googled fun finder and the lowest weight one was 4490lb

"moving the trailer"
isnt the same as
"confidently pulling the trailer"

In those size trailers "loaded weight" is usually around 25-30% more than dry weight.

Hello, personally I'd have to say it's too heavy. A lot of people aren't aware, "dry weight" doesn't include options, propane, batteries, etc. So what can be 3,000lbs from the factory can quickly turn into 3800 or more and then you still have to factor in your cargo. If you are still interested in a Cherokee for towing and I recommend an AWD Cherokee with the 3.2l engine, I'd have a dry weight of about 3200 and a loaded weight of no more than 4,000. While the Cherokee is rated to tow 4500lbs, that's when properly equipped with a weight distribution hitch, sway control systems, brake controller, etc.

That's exacly what a tough. Well I will talk with the girlfriend and see if we trade the trailer or get a truck. Not that it change anything but I forgot to say the trailer is a 2013 that why you could'nt see it on fun finder site.

Thanks guys
