Due to the amp draw of a winch you'd likely only get 5 minutes or less of use before the battery would be dead.

The warn m8000 winch pulls almost 450amps at full pull.

The group 31 battery I have is 100ah, doing the math you'd likely get just over 10 minutes before the voltage dropped to a point of not being able to use it.

My starter battery is the same as everyone else and even with the engine running and idling at 3500rpm I've been able to stall the winch due to low voltage and believe me when I say if the voltage in the jeep drops below about 11.1v a LOT of stuff in the jeep stops working until restarted.

Mine is 115 ah do not much difference. I'll just have to find someone to go with me in case I get overly brave.
