Welcome to the European section!

Welcome to all European Cherokee owners.

This section will be expanded in the future.

For now, I suggest creating threads for each country. You can create a Germany thread, a Belgium thread, etc. Once the threads are active enough then we will open a specific subforum for that country.

Also thanks for open up this section. Hope to see some new European members soon. Everyone here is waiting for the "Cherokee D(iesel)-Day", which is pretty close now. The ETA of the demo-cars in Bremerhaven is scheduled for later this week. Dealer promised, that I will have my test-drive before this month is over. Keep my fingers crossed...

This is perfect for me. I am an American in Germany. I will be retiring in Germany and just picked up my 2014 Cherokee today ( Limited, 3.2, sunroof, tow, etc.). I do not have European maps. I found a company that for €499 will send me the files to add to a USB stick to convert to EU specs, allow address entry while driving, and give me 3Q 2013 map data.

Do you know if a German dealer will conduct a software change to German specs for a fee, and if so, how much.

Thanks

I think, you need 2 things: DVD with European map and maybe some changes in the vehicle setup. You already got your car, so try this before: turn on radio and scan for radio stations. If the radio also finds stations on even frequencies ( xx.0 xx.2 xx.4 etc ), you will be fine. No need to make any changes in setup. If the radio only operates on uneven frequencies ( xx.1 xx.3 xx.5 etc. ) a certified garage can do the changes with their WITECH tester. Next thing is buying maps. I took a look into navteq online store. They don't offer maps for the Cherokee yet. So the only way to get a legal copy, is the jeep dealer.. This is the official way, which saves your warranty. Is the dealer not able to help, you can use your way as a plan b.

By the way: How is your German? We also started a German Cherokee forum and are looking for members.

The maps are normally copied from DVD on internal flash memory. I don´t know if uconnect supports maps on sd card.

That is how Customtronix.com sells them. One SD with software, one with maps

The carrier ship must be pushed by some tailwinds over the Atlantic. Dealer sent me an e-mail today that the 170 hp diesel demo cars are already here and loaded on trucks.
