A couple of days ago while on holiday near Telford the MIL warning lamp came on and stayed on. Not being sure I decided to call the 24hr assist number on my mobile. I typed the number in and got the message "number not recognised"
Thinking I had typed the number wrong I tried again and again but still got the message "number not recognised" I even had my wife dictate the number to me but to no avail. Then I remembered I had the Jeep app on my phone so I used the direct call on that only to get the same message so I tried on another 2 phones but still could not get through.
Although its a freephone number it is an international number so I contacted my phone provider in case there was some restriction on my account but that turned out to be fine.
In the end I phoned the guy at Jeep Derby who sold the car to me and he kindly phoned assistance for me who then promptly phoned back. What happened from then on is a whole new story but from the point of contacting them on assist has anyone had a similar problem, I am sure there are many who have needed to call .
The point for me is that this was midday from the hotel car park I was staying at although the hotel was quite isolated. What if it had been in the middle of no where in the middle of the night.
