Every time this topic has arisen, I've eagerly followed the instructions to the best of my ability (including an earlier instruction set that said to let the seat belt retract fully during the three-click procedure).

It's never worked.

I sure wish it would, as that chime drives me batty whenever I forget to do things in just the right sequence or when I open the driver's door too soon. I hope the Jeep engineer who spec'd this thing has to listen to it all day, every day in h*** when he dies.

I'm going to see if the dealership can disable it next time I'm in. HPH

Actually this does work, but I had the original frustration. You will not get rid of the 5 beeps when you start up the car, just the reminder a few blocks away that your seat beat is not fasten will go away. The reminder will pop up on the dash but not the sound. Be aware each time you try this method it will toggle sound on then next time sound off. So keep the seat belt off and you'll get the 5 beeps, drive a bit and see if the sounds starts...if yes do the instructions and then drive again and you experience no sound. Profit!
I ordered a Mopar OEM seat belt extender to hopefully eliminate the 5 beeps on startup as that does drive me nuts.
That all being said I always wear my seat belt but sometimes it takes me a block or two to fasten it...and I have no idea why I'm do it like that...though I know I'm not a normal and that's a given.
Good Luck

PS - Just got my seat belt extender (the shortest one that Seat Belt Extender Pros makes for the Limited) and YES it stops all the beeps
and noise. So another solution to those nasty chimes!

Because not everyone wears a seatbelt, I have never wore one, I just pull the strap over my shoulder so it looks like it's on. It's my life and I choose not to wear it. I bought a blank that keeps the chimes off.

Go hang out at an ER room in a large hospital for a day..look at what people look like that were not wearing belts.
Also if you live in an area like mine, they have seat belt traps..one cop sits in a tree with binoculars and a radios. ..down the street they have the detention area where you wait for the ticket
