Whats the approximate cost of this conversion?

And i've never been able to get a good answer from jeep or anyone else. What would be the difficulty in ordering the OEM HIDs for the limited and putting them in the TH?

My total was $480, that will be on the upper end of cost (equipment) than what it could be. Went expensive on bulbs and upgrades like lenses. Could be done under $400 not including incidentals/tools. My projectors were also $40 vs the $100 currently in stock (they can be found on places like ebay too), there are variances I can't really etch in stone.

As for OEM..I think it would be really easy, and a good solution for most people that want a real HID projector. Outside of the electrical...its a basic housing replacement. Electrically would be no different than a plug n play kit.

It is not so much the difficulty of going OEM, but rather the cost. It is quite expensive.

See here and read the following page or so...

I agree that it can get expensive if buying new for all of it, but there are HID housings on ebay in the $250-300 range popping up (from wrecked vehicles I assume) and OEM ballast/bulbs aren't necessary. Could probably be done with OEM housings for $750-850 on the higher end of cost. Would be a very easy alternative to what I did.

if you got the oem hid housings.. there would be no need to dismantle that hid housing , since all the parts are there? correct?

Do you have auto headlights? If so, does that function still work properly?

Yeah. There would probably be a bit of electrical connection work (no different than other HID aftermarket jobs), otherwise it would be a pure swap.

Yeah, has no effect. Relay basically isolates the electrical OEM signal that is all. Same as the Plug n Play kits others use. The key to this mod is the projector replacement.
