Great. I hate to take my Cherokee back to the dealer. (And so far this one has been trouble free) I was hoping not to have recalls at least for awhile. Guess it will take awhile for the recall to show up in owner connect. They'll have to supply the "shield" to dealers first. I can see the dealers busting the rear hatch trim panels up taking them off. What ever happened to basic engineering of something from the start to keep electrical modules dry?

Well it seems rather an odd place to get water damage, unless it's at floor level on the tailgate where maybe ice or slush could slide into it and it should have been fairly obvious.

I got an email from FCA telling me to bring my TH in for this recall. Actually it was already in the shop waiting for a replacement "rear axle actuator"---the source of a steady beeping sound as I reported in another thread.

But now the dealer says it does not apply? Anyone else with a 2015 TH have this experience? Since I got the Max Care Unlimited plan, I feel like the dealer should write on the service ticket "inspect for recall (with the id of this recall)" because of the email and just not leave me voicemail.

Thanks that gave me a good laugh.

I find it amazing that the auto companies have used triple seal door seals and better bonding agents and epoxys to deaden the sound and seal things better but ive had more water leaks in newer vehicles then the older ones ive owned. My cherokee hasnt shown any evidence of leaking, im hoping it stays that way because i like my Cherokee.

2014 Trail Hawk, purchased Jun 23/14. Current mileage 4350 Km.
Last fall took it for it's first run thru Northern Ontario. Encountered extremely heavy rain thru out entire trip. After return to southern Ontario began experiencing heavy build up of condensation in interior of vehicle particularly front windshield.
Last Mar. took it to dealership for side air bag recall. While there asked if they could check interior moisture problem. Mileage at that time was 3581 Km.
Well.......a week later vehicle was returned to me after they had removed all the carpets to dry out. Wheel well was full of water.
Cause of problem (their words) was blamed on the fact I had installed a CB and water had entered the vehicle by way of the CB antenna cable running from the antenna down thru the lift gate???
I questioned this as unbelievable as I have had many vehicles over the years with CB's installed in this manner with no problems whatsoever.
Cost was $800 plus.
Cable was removed at that time. Reinstalled cable a few weeks later in the same manner and have monitored ever since.....there has been no evidence of water entering vehicle by means of antenna cable.
My feeling is they had no idea why there was a water problem at that time and took the easy way out.
Waiting for recall to further approach dealership and hopefully recoup money.

On the 4th of July my wife and I went into town for the fireworks, parked the Cherokee with the rear end facing the show, opened the liftgate, and sat on the trunk floor. Was thinking this would be nice for tailgating including the liftgate as a shield for any light rain that happened by. This could be one way of water getting in. Or like someone else suggested, the fish in the spare tire well might splash around and get things wet . BTW, I also got the notification rreapperr posted above.
