Hopefully that corrects as adaptive learn completes.

Assuming from your handle you have a 2015. Did you have the problem with the loss of 2nd gear while slowing to a stop? And if so, did the TSB flash do anything to resolve this?

Yes, born 01-10-2015. Yes, the hard shift (more like a clunk) down shifting from 3rd to 1st. With TSB it drops smooth through each gear. The adaptive learning takes several thousand miles. It took a long time for it to realize the bigger tires but eventually I got 7th and 8th gear back.

All shifts are smooth. I rarely see 8th gear and never see 9th. I'm hoping that the next flash will lower the shift points so v6 owners can take advantage of the higher gears more often. Either that or I'm going to have to develop a performance chip that will change the set points.

Happy trails
@Snowhawk2015,

Did you see 8th gear prior to the flash?

thanks!

Just to clarify...does it downshift from 3-2-1 now?... or.... smooth the direct shift from 3-1? Thanks.

Yeah, I didn't want to badger @Snowhawk2015 with more questions, but I wondered the same. I'm guessing Snowhawk2015 did not get the R01 Recall for the C-Clutch snap ring problem due to the build date. IIRC, most of the snap ring issues were cleared by the beginning of calendar 2015.

No R01 recall.
Smooth 3-2-1 when slow. 3-1 when fast. Both smooth.

Really doubt any TSB will restore the 3-2-1 in transmissions with the snap ring problem that were involved in the R01 recall.

Mine allegedly has the bad snap ring and I did receive and had applied the R01 recall which hamstrung the 3-2-1 graceful downshift. Have noticed lately it will downshift from 3-2 when attempting to accelerate from a speed of 1 mph to ~7 mph, however there is still a slight lag followed by a surge that is annoying. It would be better if the downshift occurred immediately when the system detects any throttle pressure. Can only hope a future TSB will speed up the downshift response on acceleration in the 1-7 mph range.

I have R01, and did not lost the 3-2-1 downshift. The R01 I had was Rev C, I waited because I heard about the issue with loosing the 3-2-1downshift until I heard that Rev C had restored it. I had no problem after the R01 Rev. C, and then I had the S55, and now I am experiencing the hard 3-2 downshift!

Hard 3-2 downshift!!! Hope mine doesn't start doing that too. These older transmissions seem to develop various disorders that require periodic electroshock therapy .

I had the R01 done around July 2015 because of hard upshifting 2-3, but more so because I was getting pressure phone calls from FCA. Fixed that but killed the 3-2-1. Now it has developed a new disorder. Periodically, for no rhyme or reason, will shift 4-5 with a deep thud that feels like popping the clutch on a standard transmission. At the next oil change I'll ask for another shock treatment in hopes it will loose that nonsense. May have to endure another learn process. Or the dealer might say it has the latest flash and live with it.
