That 1 qt per 1000 miles was played on myself on the last vehicle before the KL TH I have now. Had a 2011 GMC Terrain with 2.4L 4 cyl and it was burning oil like a diesel, after an oil consumption test and using 2 qts in 1200 miles, got a new engine at 33K miles. The new engine didn't burn oil at all. So, in conclusion, burning a quart of oil in 1000 miles is bull pockey.

Glad that the KL had a V6 option. GM just went to all 4 cyls, except for full size trucks and SUV's and, I foresee more oil issues for them in the near future along with the rest of the industry both foreign and domestic.

2016 TH, V6, C&C, Tow group, 8.4AN, leather, Cold Weather, Command Sunroof, Black wheels, & Black. Maxcare Unlimited Miles and Years $100 Deductible.

Years ago I used to check my oil at almost every gas up. I got out of the habit with my last car (was the first new car I'd ever owned), but nice to know the KL protects itself. Would rather be surprised by an engine shutoff and some diagnosis work than massive damage to the engine.

Vehicle of my dreams? Hmm ... always stay skeptical, but enjoy what you've got while you've got it.
