Has anyone dealt with ISG for a buyback/replacement? I was wondering if anyone had successfully negotiated a better deal through them or if it was a take it or leave it kind of deal. The deal they offered was giving me MSRP for mine and then me paying MSRP for a new car. Problem is that I have gone to 3 different dealers and built the same identical 2015 cherokee and I have gotten 3 different MSRP values. The range from highest to lowest is $750 difference in MSRP for the exact same vehicle, this is not helping my lack of trust in dealerships and I just want to get the best deal I can.

Hey, I'm sorry your having to deal with ISG. I went through a buy back with my 2013 Dodge avenger, I had a solid case and every piece of evidence that my car was a lemon, with my attorney and everything, it still took 4 1/2 months to settle with ISG. They did what they are going to do with you, match the MSRP, form my experience I will tell you to make sure your getting the FACTORY msrp not the DEALER msrp. Yes, dealing with ISG is kind of a take it or leave it kind of thing, they want what is best for them, but they did come through and I now have a 2014 latitude, best of luck on your case! and remember do your homework before ordering, I was given the runaround by two different dealers!

Not sure how you could get three different MSRP's from dealers....Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price should be the same since it's the same manufacturer.....

Maybe try and price the unit on Jeep.com and go to the dealer armed with that (unless the lowest one is less ;-} )

Sorry for yourself headaches....I just went through the ISG /dealership buyback...
I did not have any problems with my situation....the dealership was very proactive /I had minimal conversations /interactions with ISG....
I received a call from ISG representative who asked for my "version " of the vehicle problems /my experience with the dealership (taped conversation )...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INFO!!!!.. The dealership called me with a replacement vehicle to look at....
ISG representative called 1 week later to discuss financial information (they did mention that I would owe a difference /usage fee....)I told them I was assured by the dealership and district manager that there would be NO COST to me...he then put me on hold..returned to the phone and stated "oh I see that you are correct..dealer notes clearly stated no cost to me! That was the extent of my interactions with ISG (not necessarily a bad interaction )....I now have my 2015 Latitude....loving my vehicle all over again!
Good luck.........Msrp is Window sticker to Window sticker...should not be different between dealerships...

Thanks for the responses. I know MSRP should be MSRP, end of story (or so i thought). I would love to get a number from the Jeep website but the 2015s are not able to be priced on there yet. Each of the dealerships went in on the database to price out the Jeep we want, and each came up with different end prices. The only explanation I was given was that maybe the dealers have different holdback amounts built into their system. On top of this I test drove a 2015 that was just delivered and it had the same problem as the one I am going through the buyback process with. I have given up on the cherokee and will be getting a grand cherokee through the replacement process. Now i just need to get ISG to work with me on the price because there is a $940 difference in EP discounts between the two vehicles.

Is this the first report of a 2015 with "the problem"?

@ItsAJeepThing - Can you please describe what you detected in the 2015?

BTW, reportedly the 2015 Jeep Cherokee sales launch is this coming Monday. I'd expect to see the Jeep website updated with official MSRPs, FWIW.

I am presently going thru a re-purchase process with ISG.
They are slow to respond. But I am hopefull that I should have the money back in the next 15 days.
The process started end of July. So it has taken about 4 weeks already.

Good luck with your process.

As I went through the buyback with ISG this is how it worked. I was given the opportunity to get a 2105 or a 2104. As long as the model and equipment were the same on the 2015 then even if the MSRP was higher on the 2015 there would be no money out of my pocket due to price change. Only if I were to change the equipment would there then be a change. My Limited (1st one) listed @ 31820. V-6, 9spkr upgrade,FWD. 2nd one I opted to change the 9spkr upgrade for the Trailer Tow Pkg, it also had the phone charger. This made the MSRP 31825. Chrysler ate the 5 bucks. It was a 2014 on another dealer lot nearby me that my dealership new and worked with on dealer trades. It cost me nothing, nadda, zilch. So if you choose to get a 2015 as long as the model and equipment is exactly as your current one then there is no money out of your pocket. PERIOD!!!!

The 2015 had the same shimmy/wobble as my 2015. I know it is possible that a 2015 would have the same issue because they dont yet have a solution for it, and maybe it is just my luck that I would try out a 2015 with the same issue. I can say that when I was originally searching for a cherokee, I drove at least 5 of them that had no issue. I guess i didnt do enough research before buying and when i took delivery of my cherokee i was leaving the dealer and i felt it shake, i thought to myself that it felt odd, i then did a google search when i got home and found numerous hits regarding the wobble, and i guess the rest is history and now i am getting a replacement.

GAMTNMANN, they told me if there is ANY difference in price i would be responsible for the difference plus tax. The options on my jeep when carried over to a 2015 show a $450 increase. After driving a 2015 with the same condition i have decided to end looking for a cherokee and get a Grand Cherokee. For 38,450 MSRP on the new cherokee, that will get me a very nice Grand Cherokee, and i have decided to do just that. I have found and reserved a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited with one option (luxury package). It is going to be extra money and i am currently working on having chrysler give me the difference between the EP discounts of the two vehicles ($950 bucks extra off the Grand)

Wow! I've been waiting on getting feedback on the '15s before making my decision because I've heard so much negative feedback on the '14s with transmission issues and the dreaded shimmy/wobble. Can't believe they'd make the next model year without addressing this issue permanently.

If it's not to late, I'd ask for a buyback and nothing more. When ISG does a "swap", it can take months longer. That's why I chose to receive a check instead of another Cherokee. See if you have that option. ISG took about 3 weeks to send me a check after they had the car.

I'm waiting to hear from ISG due to the Buy Back of my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Two weeks into owning my dream car (only 300 miles) it had to have a new transmission put in and afterwards there were Mang other issues. I'm so sad because I wouldn't have traded my car if it weren't for that I feel in love with my friends Trailhawk. Her 2014 seems to be running fine but her husbands 2015 had to have transmission replaced too! So with all the issues I dealt with and have seen with this car , I'm going with the Jeep Wrangler.

My question is what if the MSRP is LOWER than the TrailHawk.... Do they refund me the difference? What about the 2 payments I've paid and the $406 in taxes I had to pay on my own (in NC you pay out of pocket and they send the registration/sticker for tag) what will I get back???? Anyone experienced this??

Thanks!!!!

How did some of you get to the point where Chrysler/FCA agreed to buy your Cherokee back? My 2015 Cherokee Latitude has been in 6 times in under 3,000 miles. Hard Shifting, hesitation upon acceleration that they claim there is no fix for. "its a computer glitch". Check engine light on at 2200 miles. Coolant leak, replaced injectors. They finally replaced the bad axles to get rid of the wobble after I threatened a lawyer. The hard shifting is getting worse and I have requested a buy back again. The first time they told me no. Then agreed to fix the axles. This time I am still waiting for a call back. So with all that being said, what are your issues/concerns that warranted a buy back? I feel like I have exceeded the criteria for it. This vehicle is not safe to drive. I just want my money back.

Question for the Group... I have a shitty 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit that has gear changing issues/transmission issues and stalls out while I am driving. It has happened 5 times already.

I am having a drag-out fight with ISG. I think they are going to come around and settle finally. Regarding a line above, "The deal they offered was giving me MSRP for mine and then me paying MSRP for a new ca," are they going to pay Factory MSRP for the car as if it were brand new (~$42K) OR MSRP for the car's value today (~$35K)? If they pay today's value, it makes no sense for me to agree to that because I wiped out the equity I have in the car...

Thoughts?

Thanks to for everyone sharing their roadmap for seeking justice from these A-holes.

Thomas

After 4 months of waiting ISG has finally put me into the 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk. They took back my 2014 Cherokee lemon that had 3 new transmission put in it.
Be aware that upon turn in of the 2014 vehicle they check everything from dings/dents to the tread depth of each tire.
It was a MSRP of the 2014 vs the MSRP of the 2016. I opted to upgrade to the Trailhawk and pay the difference.
Transmission is working perfectly.

First post for me. This thread has been very helpful.

I had 5x I went in with it all they kept doing was Reflashing the computer 1-2-3 on 4 replaced the TCM and 5 it happened again anyway. The useless lady from FCA advance customer support was useless I went to the owner of the dealer directly. He spoke to his factory rep in less than a week he got back to me saying ISG will contact me.

Mine is a lease. Any idea how this would work with the mileage cause he did mention about paying mileage?

Also I was thinking about a compass so I can save some money cause it's 8-10k

Something sounds wrong. I turned in my ISG buy back on July 15, 2015 and less than hour total time i was driving my current 2015 TH home. I had picked out a vehicle I wanted and the dealer actually had traded to another dealer to get it for me. But I did go there a few days before I turned mine in and took the replacement for a drive to make sure it was working like it should and it was. Anymore questions I will be glad to try to answer for you. I hope you get things settled. Since they now have your vehicle I don't see any reason why you should have to wait on the replacement--but I could be wrong as every situation is not always the same.

So the guy Who deals with the swap called me and I told him what the dealer said about driving a loaner car and he said usually that's because they don't have paperwork ready. So he called the dealer and once they get the bank paperwork will do the surrender and take the new one at the same time that's the way this guy typically likes to do it and I swear I want to do it I don't want to drive a loaner car in between

Good, sounds like you are getting the "details" taken care of now and you shouldn't have to drive a loaner car. Keep us posted if you like when you actually get the deal completed.

I drove my own car until the last day which was today.

Got my swap out finalized today. Got a 4 cylinder 2016 with a backup camera, remote start, & blind spot detection which I didn't have before. I have to say it runs really smooth better than the 6 cyl. I was doing like 80 on the highway and didn't even realize I was going that fast, I know the local driving is where all the shifting happens and that so far feels smooth, not jerky at all.

So far I'm happy. Will I buy another jeep again? Probably not. I think it's gonna be Toyota or Honda when this lease is over in 18 months.

I'd like to thank the board for providing details so I knew they weren't jerking me around
