Rattle / squeak in the back

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a rattle or squeaky noise somewhere in the back of their cherokee ( could be boot/trunk or backseat area ). Not sure if it's the sunroof or the rear cargo shade hitting against something. It's more prominent over bumps and is Intermittent.

If anyone could shed some light.

Thanks.

If you have the 9 Speaker system, I found a loose washer that was rattling every time I hit a bump.

It's pretty common for the rear seats to squeak for a while if you slide them to a different position or fold them down and put them back up. Mine will do it for a couple weeks, then go away. Some have had success lubricating the seat tracks and release mechanism.

I agree with the back seat. Mine was the rear driver side seat which never gets used so I just slid it forward a click or 2 and haven't heard anything since.

It's probably more of like a crumpling creaking sound. I'll re adjust the back seats and see how I go. In the mean time I'll take out the rear cargo shade as I never use it. I'm also thinking it could be the sunroof fabric when closed rattling.

Shot in the dark, but does the creak go away when you open or vent your sunroof? Mine creaked when I closed the sunroof and then with the sunroof closed would creak intermittently when going over bumps, etc. Finally got around a few days ago to putting silicone grease on all rubber and plastic contact points where the sunroof closes and that immediately got rid of my sunroof creak.

The creak/crumple noise is still there when i open the sunroof (both shade and actual roof).

I managed to record the sound while driving. Its occuring from the back of the car. Here is the link attached.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had the issue with the back seats... I slid them back and forth a few times, had folks in the back and now they are fine. I think they didn't lube them the right way, so if you use them a bit, it spreads the lube out on the tracks.

However, it might not be the back seats. Do you have anything on your roof? I put a Yakima Megawarrior and my Spare Tire on my roof, and when it was cold the squeaking from the roof rack attachment points to the car was incredibly annoying. I popped one of the covers off and tightened the bolts, but it was still there. As the weather warmed up (and the metal expanded) the squeak went away, but something else to consider.

I've sat in the backseat and actually narrowed it down to a squeak coming from the rear sunroof glass.

I've read on here with people having the same issue and have used 303 aerospace lubricant. So will try that.
