Trip

Did my first long drive 400km. 2016 TH. Road clear. Engine good. Did 10l/100km. Saw 8th gear often. Love this car. Love the engine sound in low gear!

Same here! but not so far, about 90 km stretch non stop @ 105 km/hr. Trip computer indicating 6.7 l/100km basically in 9th the whole way.

Car has only ~500 km on the odometer so I'm expecting a little improvement as the engine loosens up.

Once I use up this tank of unknown brand of diesel that was filled by the dealer when I picked up the car, I will be switching to BP Ultimate Diesel. It's a higher grade of diesel available in Australia that's meant to keep the fuel system and combustion clean as well as improve economy. I'll see how it goes.

cheers

I have to say this. Even in 2016 model, lighting is still an issue. Do not undertand it they dont test it at the factory at all. Visibility was so bad at night. Just terrible.

Wonder if 9th gear has a stamp on it that says, "Intended for diesel only".

Do you remember how many RPMs your diesel was turning in 9th at 105 kph (65 mph)?

I have to admit, the speedo and tacho gauges are a little small in the Cherokee, so my best judge at 105 km/hr, she is pulling a little over 1400 RPM. The engine feels relaxed and and pretty quiet.

Cheers

You are one of the few that don't it seems, most with standard halogens have agreed the lighting sucks.
