Black exterior trim is peeling

I have a 2014 trailhawk, and the black plastic molding around the wheels is starting to peel/flake. Is this happening on anyone else's? Seems a little early for that already.

It is almost like the plastic is slightly a grayish black, and where it peels away it is a darker black. Also, is the dirty area on the blue just from road dirt? It does not come off easily at all.

Hmm, that's interesting. Do you wax or use some kind of treatment for it? Otherwise if it's still under warranty I'd take it to the dealer.

I got it certified pre-owned at about 6k miles, and have not treated it in any way since I've owned it. Not sure about before I got it.

Thankfully the worse of it is only visible with the door open, but if it looks this bad now, what will it look like in just a few more years? I figure I will live with it until the warranty is about up, then get it fixed. That way I might get a few more years out of the replacement pieces.

I wonder if I won out or got taken sometimes. It was apparently a dealer demo. They said boss's wife used it alot, etc. It has already had the ptu and transmission replaced, but so have a lot of other people's I guess. It was a $38,000+ sticker price and I got it for a little less than $30k. Not sure if I did ok or not, but I could not get anyone to make me a decent deal on a new one. Plus the bonus of a better warranty. What exactly is the certified warranty though? I thought it was 7 year 100,000 mile power train.. and I'm not sure of the full coverage part.

2.2 Corrosion Warranty
A. Who Is Covered?
You are covered if you are a purchaser for use of the
vehicle.
B. What’s Covered
This warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor
needed to repair or replace any sheet metal panels that
get holes from rust or other corrosion. If a hole occurs
because of something other than corrosion, this warranty
does not apply. Cosmetic or surface corrosion — result-
ing, for example, from stone chips or scratches in the
paint — is not covered. For more details on what isn’t
covered by this warranty, see 3.5.
C. How Long It Lasts
The Corrosion Warranty starts when your Basic Limited
Warranty begins under 2.1(E).
This warranty has two time-and-mileage limits:

For sheet metal panels, the limit is 36 months, with no
mileage limit.

For an outer-body sheet metal panel — one that is
finish-painted and that someone can see when walk-
ing around the vehicle — the limits are 5 years or
100,000 miles on the odometer, whichever occurs
first.
This is not sheet metal, so my guess is it is only covered for 3 year 36,000 miles for me.

Looks to me like it has been painted. I don't think that trim is painted from factory.
