My 2014 KL will be 3 years old by April 2017, therefore out of the bumper to bumper warranty and entering the limited powertrain 5 years warranty.
Usually (when I can afford it of course) that 2 year window is my sweet spot to start looking around and considering options to trade the current vehicle before or around the 5 year warranty expiration day. So in that sense I am kind of curious about the 2017 MY (mechanically and price wise, as these vehicles got considerably more expensive here in Canada since I bought mine 2 years ago).
It will definitely set my pace in either stick with Jeep or starting shopping around
same boat as bruno. got mine 12/18//2013. ive generally kept new cars for 2 to 3 years since my new 1969 oldmobile. ive found it much cheaper to purchase than lease. but alot depends on depreaciation. the cherokee has depreciated more tha most.
Odd, most info I've seen on the KL indicates it has the typically high Jeep resale value (might just be the TH models). I've had mine less than a year and the loan is already right side up.
im wanting to buy the uconnect 8.5 from the 2017 model with the androidauto built in. then you can use your googlemaps right off your phone on the screen without paying for the $1000 nav option? wondering if they will do any exterior changes , like new bumpers , or fascia for the thawks, thawks have smooth and boring bumpers and the approach angle could be a lot better.
Not sure of this applies to the KL, but the 17 WK2s just had there reveal today and are stating the android/ apple play will not be available till late 2017
trailhawk has depreciated 12000 in 2 years. thats 500 a month. maybe after 3 years it will come around. time will tell. what you owe on car has nothing to do with what it costs you to drive it.
got more pics of the 17. wish i could figure out how to post them. l.e.d. lights and headlights still the same. lower grille long and chromed on this model looks like two air intakes on each end and some large camara/sensor??? by the drivers side one. actual grille is covered with tarp. back end covered. no badges at all on this car. cant get close enough to see inside as it is constanlly guarded.
I'm looking to jump into a 17 Trailhawk as soon as they are available. I have a 2014 and I'm 23 months into a 36 month lease. My original plan was to do a low mileage lease then buy at the end just to spread payments out and keep them low. Unfortunately i've had the transmission replaced and an unexplained resonating type noise in the front end when the TH was returned with the new transmission, and an accident where I was rear ended. So my best bet would be to just let it go and start from scratch.
One problem is that i'm less than 1500 miles away from the 30k mile limit. So i'm in panic mode since each miles over is 25 cents!
I attempted to trade into a 16 last fall, but one dealer didn't want it and my selling dealer would only give me 22k trade value. That was about 3 grand less than the payoff. They claimed it was high mileage. 20K miles in 18 months isn't exactly high mileage!
So i'm anxious to see the new one and get some pricing. If it's too pricey, I gotta a decision to make on something different!
Im looking at replacing my 2014 Limited with a new 2017 exactly the same specs.
I change vehicles every 2-3 years and my 2014 Cherokee has been great
