Wow, I thought another one would just snap on. That's not good.

Nope... I'm just gonna put gorilla glue on it... I'm not spending 141 dollars on a new shifter

Right or wrong, the Dealer just enters the part number in the system and determines the coverage. Just Epoxy the button back on and get back in business. The replacements do not seem to be any more durable.

Like that idea. From the picture, it looks like the button has a good bit of flat surface where the plastic broke. Might it be possible to fashion a piece of plastic that supports the attachment and glue that on?

There have been a number of members that had that happen too. I've wondered about it. One of those things that floats in the back of the mind each time the button is pressed .

Edit to add: Sounds like Desoto's been there done that; probably numerous times.

Happened to me too (2015 Limited). Was a bit iffy about using epoxy in an unseen location next to moving parts, so shoved a big lump of blu-tac inside the plastic knob, then shoved it back into position. Worked perfectly for 6+ months until I took vehicle for its first service, and made a warranty claim. Then, amazing, it was so bl**dy hard to get the button off that the dealer was amazed, reckons that was better than the original puny plastic attachment.

Had the whole shift lever replaced under warranty (I'm in the UK) but if it happens again I'll just blu-tac it back and forget about replacement. Now keep a pack of blu-tac in the glove box in case anything else drops off.

Mine fell off too. I plan on using gorilla double sided tape to fix it. No need for a new shifter
