Gotta watch the dealers and others. Plain and simple. Took my Chevy 2500 2WD truck (2400) into one of the quickie oil change places. They handed me a bill which seemed awful high for just an oil change. Got to reading it and it said they changed the oil in my transfer case? I said you changed the oil in my transfer case? They said yeah it was really bad. I asked the cashier to get the manager, I was not paying the bill and instead calling the PD lol. He came out and told me I had to pay for what they did and I had told them to do it. I then said get the guy who changed the transfer case out here and have him show me where he put the oil in. Manager looked at me funny. "Kid" came in and said yes he did in fact change it. I explained it was impossible as my truck does NOT have a transfer case, it's 2WD lol. Major embarrassment on their part. I left and wasn't even charged for the oil change (yes made sure they did it lol). On another visit at a different place I was told my air cleaner was dirty and needed a new one. I asked to see it lol. A guy brought out a dirty filter and showed me. I asked what you did with mine? He said this is yours. Ummm ...I had a K&N in there. Went out and sure enough my K&N was still in there.
Really need to watch these folks AND some dealers. Again the dealers can make or break your whole post sales experience. Major complaints were filed with each company. This is a great post as well for saving a ton of money and time.
