Anxiety about which model to get

I think I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2016 High Altitude Limited 4x4 4cyl with the panoramic sunroof. I've been trying to decide exactly what I want/ this one has 20% off.

I had a 2015 Latitude Alitude with cold weather, 8.4 screen, and the V6, which was totaled after 2 months/ 5,000 miles

I'm really hoping I don't hate the 4cyl, but I've had nothing but 4cyl cars other than the Cherokee, so I think I will be ok/ I really wasn't a fan of the start stop feature.

I'm excited to get back into the Jeep Family/ I had a 2016 Sonata Sport in between.

Any important options im missing?

Take a long test drive in the 4cyl first of you can, the comparison is significant.

Keep in mind that the KL is significantly heavier than many "cars". I've driven a 4cyl KL and didn't feel unsafe in highway traffic, but I also wasn't really happy with it either.

Ask 20 people on the forum and get 22 answers. @David_Baker is right, though. Drive one for an extended period in the type of traffic you will be in and see how it feels to you. It could be worth it to actually rent one, if available, for several days and try it out. Also, the 4cyl is limited to 2,000lbs towing. So if you ever, even remotely, may plan on towing anything bigger than a utility trailer without much cargo, the 4cyl is out.

The engine is one of those things that you can't economically swap out or modify...

I had the 4 cyl Sport and traded off to a Trailhawk. Now that I have a V6 I would never go back.
The 4 just did not have the power I wanted when merging or passing on a highway.
Agree to test drive the 4 cyl for extended periods.

1-1/2 happy years with the 4 cyl and if I had to replace it, would go 4cyl again without hesitation. Absolutely love it. No problems with power what so ever.

Actually, I would go with a V6 over a I4. Nothing wrong with the I4 though.
The reason I say this is the main reason for an I4 is mpg.
In my opinion the V6's mpg is not that far off from the I4 and the gain in acceleration/smoother operation is better in my opinion.
V6 will handle the extra weight better. If most your driving is heavy city driving then an I4 would benefit you in that situation.
BUT its all preference. I did drive both and preferred the V6. But again I came from a Grand Cherokee V8. So the well may have been poisoned.

Get want you want so you will have no regrets. The auto off/on can always be turned off if you don't like it. I built my TH on the Jeep website, and for the first time in my life was not going to settle for anything less. Because Mango Tango Pearl Coat is no longer offered, I had my Dealer search for one for me. Doing this, I lost out on the 20% off on Dealer stock, but I got what I wanted + more and I have no regrets.

I have the i4, it's fine for me and for anyone else who knows exactly what it is and not the v6. I know I won't be blowing anyone away when the light goes green or winning any road rage races down the street with it. But at the same time it has no issues getting up to 80 on the highway and driving.

@Rojhan nailed it with the towing difference. you did not mention the tow package either way but the v6 is a must if you plan on really using it if you're getting the factory tow package. Looking back, this is the only reason I wish I would've got the v6 and factory tow.

I hated that I would pull into my garage, put my foot on the brake, car would turn off, switch back on when I went to park for me to turn it off. Sounds minimal but for me it was annoying. Maybe it's changed since the 15's but every time I restarted mine it turned back on. (The feature)

Don't think there are any ESS changes for 2016/2017. To stop the ESS annoyance, pop the shifter into neutral just before reaching zero mph, or undo the seat belt. It becomes a habit and the annoyance disappears.

Since you already had a KL, you know what you want and don't want. Agree with others; if you might use it to tow in the future then the tow group and a V6 is the way to go. The mpg difference is negligible but the V6 is more expensive.
