Is this normal or am I going crazy?

I've called Jeep, they don't know, they have to get back to me. I've asked the dealer before purchasing it and they said it was just the bottom cushion that heats. Parts and service said there is a lumbar heating pad. Can someone please help?! Thanks!

Entire back on mine is heated...up to about 4 inches from top.

I'm trying to behave myself so I don't have to go that route, but time will tell on the bionic back.

So I did go out and check, lumbar does heat on the passenger but still don't feel any heat from the driver lumbar. Maybe a little little tiny bit, but that could be the heat from my hand, so I'm still back to zero. Dealership couldn't tell me either so they want me to bring it in next week.. I did check for any wires and connections and everything looked good. It's amazing how much room is under there with it being a powered seat (btw).

I completely hate the VA. You don't have to go in but a few times to see how horrible the providers are, and they leave quickly it completely suck. Been dealing with them since '03. Just happened to be filling out a request to change PCP as mine is a total jerk. Treats you snotty and is just arrogant at the same time. Better luck my friend.
Luckily this isn't my first rodeo with the VA. It's just a poorly designed system that's overwhelmed.

As far as seats I have the TH and it's on the bottom and back. I wouldn't know for a 14, other than I had an 11 WK2 and every other car we have had heated seats included the top and bottom.

Just got back from the store. My heated seats in my 2014 sport heat right up to where my thumb is placed (hopefully the pic worked). And yes they're great for bad backs.

Didn't realize you are a new member--so welcome to the forum and a great question.
I checked my Patriot and it heats up on my back at least 10 to14 inches up and my KL seems to heat up the back up to where the lower panel is connected to an upper panel which is quite high. I have had several of these KLs and they all heated my back as far as I can remember.

Just adding my two cents ... Both the bottom and back cushions in my 2015 Limited with perforated leather upholstery heat from the bottom up to between my shoulder blades. This is welcome therapy as I'm plagued with frequent back muscle aches.

I'm guessing that the technology is a pad with embedded heating wires, similar to an automatic blanket or heating pad. If the lower two-thirds of your seat back doesn't get noticeably warm, I would suspect a broken wire in the heating net. Repair is probably best left to the dealer. Not only are you dealing with electrical connections and complicated assembly, you have seat backs with embedded airbags. I've seen them deploy and I don't want to be near one in case of a misfire.

OT, for sure! A bloated bureaucracy, to be sure. There are at least 6 layers of administration at the Fort Wayne VA. I wait endlessly to get things done. Trump needs to gut it to be like like Medicare: give us each an encoded card as to what we are entitled to; let us go where we choose, and the VA just becomes a payer, not a provider.

What sucks the most but something I am thankful for is that my family gets ChampVA, where they can see any provider that takes it, and most due. I have to go to some crap clinic. I used to work with the VA system with pharmaceuticals and there are 7 VISNs each with quite a bit of autonomy but everything and everybody is supposed to be on the same page as the VA system out of Indiana. Sadly it's not. I had great care in SLC and even Long Beach. Seattle was horrible. The pharmacy bean counters intimidate almost all the primary providers or make their lives unacceptably miserable.

We have had to pay serious $$ every since coming back with neuro issues. My wife is a nurse. I was a combat medic and respiratory therapist as well. With the knowledge of this bureaucratic nightmare I had hoped the Obamas administration would have done something but they left us high and dry in the ACA. Really it's awful how they treat Vets. I would dread life is the VA was my only option. Just a sad factoid about America.

So many of us our Jeep owners too.

I hate going to them for anything as they seem to ask you a million questions about suicidal thoughts and sweep the other long term stuff under the rug.

Best of luck down there in VA. Things are usually better in places where many former service member move for retirement but not always. Seattle was a nightmare.

Understaffed, underfunded and apathetic at best. We get treated like useless government surplus. Again shame on them. Most of us gave the best years of our lives, often sacrificing marriages and family to serve and we get rewarded like this. Just wrong.

Back in April, 2010, I was awarded SSDI based on my VA Disability. No Lawyers, no hearings; I was awarded it on the first go around. I didn't even know that I was entitled to it! I am presently 80% VA Disabled. I put an appeal in to the VA 6 years ago to be put at 100%. I initially had the American Legion helping me. What a joke. 2 people for the whole State and they only take calls twice a week. I finally found an lawyer who specializes in veteran's appeals. Initially, the agreement was 30%. Last April I had the 4th spine surgery at L5/S1. By June, the artificial disc had slipped out of place, and I had to have it redone! Based on what I went through last summer, he lowered his fee to 20% because their goal is to help the vets. Nice guy. He thinks my case is solid: probably no hearing. I had an interview with an Employment Specialist, and he told me that if anyone was deserving of this, it was me. So, I sit and wait. I can only pray that Trump guts the VA. He can do what Reagan did when the air traffic controllers went on strike: fire them all and gut the union which protects all the lazy bastards in administration at the VA.

OP: I apologize for hyjacking your thread.
