How would I get in contact with Kori?
Hi Jouleau,

If you're still having concerns with your radio beyond what occurred on Monday, I would need to direct you back to your dealership for further diagnosis. If you need help making an appointment, please let me know.

It looks like they are not standing behind their product, since my radio didn't correct itself I have to pay hundreds of dollars to correct the radio situation. I truly don't think this is a fair deal, the radio was affected by the update and never went back to normal.

@Jouleau I would suggest not paying anyone anything at this point! Let @JeepCares work on this for you first.

Thank you, but they have told me I have to have it diagnosed first which is 185.00 just to be looked at! It just seems unfair and sad right now to me.

Is this what @JeepCares has told you or your dealer?

Jeepcare said to go to the dealership and pay what they charge me for the diagnosis. That is the price the dealership gave me.

Today, owners of vehicles with the Uconnect 5.0 system (RA2 sales code) may have experienced a condition where their radio would freeze and restart repeatedly. This condition was caused by an update to the Satellite Radio signal, that the radio could not handle. As of 1:00 PM EST (January 30, 2017), the situation has been resolved and your radio should function normally again.

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

If anyone is still experiencing the concern, please let me know ASAP.

"his condition was caused by an update to the Satellite Radio signal, that the radio could not handle."
In other words it was caused buy the radio not being able to digest the new signal. It appears that Satellite Radio adjusted their signal to fix it at least temporarily.

#1. You might want be to be sure your u-connect has been updated with the most current software. That software is owner downloadable at: https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/
I would suggest you print out the instructions so you can follow them as you do the download and most important install the update on the u-connect system. All you really need is a blank USB drive that will go into your Cherokee's USB port after you down load.

The update will install all new software and reboot the system to complete the install. At the very end of the install your version number on the screen should be the same as the update's version number you just did. So check it out and if you have never done a u-connect update on your Cherokee it most likely will solve your issue. It will also improve the u-connect as they have had many fixes over the last 3 years, at least for me.
I would assume you are past the 3/36 bumper to bumper on your Cherokee if they want $185 to diagnose. Otherwise it would be covered.
Good luck

@Jouleau, the advice from @Jeepster1 is excellent. The update software is free and the cost of a flash drive is MUCH less than the dealer wants to charge you. Performing the software update would have an effect similar to reinstalling the operating software on your home computer. It "wipes the slate clean" and brings your system up to date so that it's compatible with the current satellite signals.

I haven't had issues with my Uconnect systems, but I have done the software updates twice. It's not difficult if you follow the provided instructions carefully. Even if you make a mistake, you won't "brick" your system. It will just return to the software that was originally installed, giving you a chance to try again. Good luck!
