Cruising from Los Angeles to Barstow off road.

Went from Lancaster to Barstow without touching pavement. Except where the 395 hit my trail but I just had to drive across it.

Here is the start of the actual trail. I cruised thru it and reached speeds of 60 mph.

Wow, didn't know it existed and I lived in the high desert (Lancaster) for eons back in the 70's and 80's. I raced the big Barstow to Vegas motorcycle race in the early 70's and that whole are is/was filled with all kinds of hazards like open pit mines and other obstacles especially. Obviously now a developed and at least semi maintained trail? Pretty cool. I only live a 2 hours from it now so may have to check it out! I'm kinda surprised I didn't know about it! Of course haven't lived out there for many years, but have kids still out there.

I started near 170th street east and avenue J.
It ends near the 58 by Barstow. The "road" I took near the end was Community BLVD.
The road travels diagnally, North East.
No obstructions on the trail except at the very end some jerk that lives on Community BLVD put tires all across the road. I was going to clear the trail but he opened the door of his house so I got back in the Hawk and drove over his tires instead. I looked back on maps later and you could jst go around the south side of his property to avoid it.

If I take the regular streets and Highways it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.
When I took the trail it took a little over 2 hours but I stopped for a picnic and some pictures.
